Day. 1 Arrive at Entebbe Airport

Day 2 Drive to Mabamba Swamp
After an early breakfast, we start our Christmas Holiday in Uganda with a morning drive to Mabamba Swamp, 50km west of Kampala city, and stop en route at Mpigi Swamp for papyrus scarcities. Here we spot out Shoebill stork, White-winged Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Yellow-backed Weaver, Northern Brown-throated Weaver, Blue-headed Coucal, and other swamp specialties hence marking a great birding experience in Mabamba.

Day 3. Drive to Nakasongola – Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Sanctuary
Today we set off little bit early after breakfast, we proceed North part of Uganda arriving in the afternoon in time for lunch, later we proceed for Rhino tracking and overnight.

Day 4. Drive to Murchison Fall National park
Our Christmas Holiday in Uganda starts with an early breakfast then we proceed to Murchison Fall national park, we stop for Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo forest for a little while then proceed to the park. There are very many birds in the park of which some are rare, common, and occasional such as the Gray-crowned crane, Giant Kingfisher, Giant Heron, Shoebill stork, Abyssinian Ground Hornbills, Nightjars, Marabou stork, Black-headed Lapwing, Black-bellied Bustard among others.

Day 5. Morning game Tour – afternoon boat Trip
After breakfast we cross with 7 o’clock ferry to the Northern bank for a game drive and birding watching along the way to the Delta then later return back for afternoon boat cruise along the Victoria Nile up to the base of the water fall. (optional hiking). Return back and transfer to the accommodation for your overnight. Uganda’s best birding spots with over 451 bird species which include; Albertine rift endemic birds, water birds, and Savannah birds.

Day 6. Drive from Murchison | Kibale Forest National Park
Early breakfast then leave Murchison Fall National Park. Interesting drive through western Albertine rift valley, papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Rwenzori Mountains (mountain of the Moon) that habituates several bird species which migrate from Congo forests and Rwenzori ranges. Afternoon guided walk in the Swamp, lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit and bird watching.

Day 7. Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale Forest National Park homegrown to over 335 bird species, we encounter chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest and other primates to trail include the L.hoestes, Red colobus, Red tailed, Olive Baboon, Gray cheeked Mangabey hence do birding in Bigodi wetland, which is managed by the Bigodi local community. Day 8. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a morning breakfast from your verandah room, thereafter drive further west to Queen Elizabeth National Park sightseeing and game viewing on your way.

Day 9. Morning game Safaris & Afternoon Boat Cruise
Queen Elizabeth National Park is Famous for Savannah Elephant, water Buffaloes, Lions and Kobs, expect to see some rare animals like giant forest hog and over 550 recorded bird species. After lunch, enjoy the boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lake George and Lakes Edward, this will enable you view different species of birds along side the Channel, this encounter will make your Birding Safari spectacular.

Day 10. Tree climbing Lion in Ishasha
Early morning breakfast, After take a visit to the bat Cave at Maramagambo, Forest Birds are found here in abundance and you will find this as perfect place to spot a variety of species including some rarities such as the White Naped Pigeons, Forest Flycatchers, and the Rwenzori Turaco to name a few.
You might also come across long columns of Soldier Ants- columns have been seen 100 meters long and six abreast – obviously it is best to avoid soldier ants and their bite since they have a quite a sting – fortunately there is no long-term effect on humans besides being painful. Visit the Bat Caves that were closed in 2008 due to a woman contracting the Marburg Virus – in cooperation with the American Center of Disease Control a safe viewing center has been erected outside of the cave where you can view the thousands of bats found there and the bat gorging pythons quite the sight and now done safely without the fear of contracting the Marburg Virus. Later drive to Ishasha for tree climbing lions drive.

Day 11. Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park
Morning game drive at Ishasha in search for Hyena hunting then later return to the lodge for late breakfast, later checkout and later drive to Bwindi impenetrable National Park via the beautiful scenery of tea plantations. Bwindi forest is the lushest highland rain forest in Africa, Filled with primates and exotic bird species. The afternoon is spent on a Birding tour around the local communities living around the park.

Day 12. Bwindi Forest National Park
Early morning breakfast from the lodge then drive to the briefing center as we get ready for gorilla trekking accompanied with Bird watching in Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Today you will carry packed lunch with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots, insect repellents etc. The tour guides will lead you inside the jungle in search for the mountain Gorillas for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gears, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only 1004 left in the world! according to the recently gorilla census carried out in the Virunga areas. Day 13. Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Enjoy your breakfast, and later transfer to the place of so many little Birds, its one of the few lakes in the region rumored to be free from Bilharzia and safe for swimming, the depth of the lake vary from 44 Meters to 900 Meters which make the lake to be the second deepest lake in Africa. Afternoon Birding Tours around the lake or take a boat cruise along lake Bunyonyi.

Day 14. Drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
After our Birding Safaris in Lake Bunyonyi, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park for horse back riding experience in Lake Mburo. After an early breakfast we start our drive to Lake Mburo National Park, hence stopover at Mbarara for lunch, continue with our drive to Lake Mburo National Park with Evening game drive to the Lodge which is so much rewarding and interesting. The afternoon is spent on a game drive spotting the Elands, impalas, water bucks, warthogs and zebras as we prepare for Bird watching experience.
