Day 1. Arrival in Kigali – Rwanda.
Our guide will meet you at the airport and you will have the option of doing a city tour around Kigali depending on your time of arrival. Kigali has a lot of attractions from cultural museums to city monuments and genocide memorials Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Transfer to Bukavu- DR Congo.
Our guide will pick you up at the hotel after breakfast and you will head south towards the Cyangungu border into DRC and then Bukavu. You will have a stopover in Butare (A cultural city in Rwanda) which will give you a chance to see the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the Rwanda genocide memorial site. You will have your lunch here.
After you will continue through the scenic hills of Rwanda and the Nyungwe forest which will give you a chance to see Lake Kivu and later you will be in Bukavu.
After lunch, continue on a scenic journey to Bukavu with wonderful views of the hills in Rwanda through the tropical forest of Nyungwe National park and a clear view of Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at
Orchid safari Lodge on a full Basis
Day 3. Lowland Gorilla tracking Kahuzi Biega
Today you will head out in search of the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park. This is an amazing activity just like the mountain gorillas. The lowland gorillas are however different from the mountain gorillas one distinctive feature being that the lowland gorillas are bigger in size. The rules and regulations are similar to all other primates. It usually takes about 2-4 hours to find the gorillas and you will spend one hour with them.
After the trek, you can then do half a nature walk through the park after lunch, here you will see a lot of wildlife, tea plantations, research centres and the Tshibati waterfalls. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Orchid safari Lodge on a full Basis
Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali
Today our 4 Days Lowland Gorilla trekking end, wake up have breakfast and head back to Kigali for your flight home. You will reach Kigali in the late afternoon. End of safari – Depart.
